I'm Jody Tavares — Founder of Empowering You To Rise, Senior People & Culture Leader, Certified Holistic Life, Career & Executive Coach, and Reiki Master with a Master’s in HR Management.

For more than 15 years, I’ve partnered with leaders and teams across media, healthcare, and education — guiding individuals through career transitions, leadership growth, and organizational change. I’ve seen firsthand that strategy alone doesn’t create lasting transformation. Structure, data, and systems matter — but it’s clarity, compassion, and purpose that make growth truly stick.

Through Empowering You To Rise, I integrate people-centered leadership with mindful awareness. I support young adults, professionals in transition, and organizations navigating change — helping them move forward with confidence, intention, and trust in themselves.

My work is grounded, practical, and human. I help people align who they are with how they show up — so they can make informed, values-aligned decisions and grow with authenticity.

My path to leadership was not linear — and that shaped how I approach this work.
After entering the workforce and starting a family, I returned to school while raising four children and working full time, completing my degrees over thirteen years. That experience gave me firsthand insight into resilience, trade-offs, and the complexity of career decisions made without full visibility.

As my career in People & Culture leadership evolved, I saw these same patterns play out at scale inside organizations: unclear systems, misaligned expectations, and talented individuals navigating growth without structure. That is why I do this work.

I believe sustainable performance — whether personal or organizational — requires both clarity and self-awareness. My lived experience allows me to partner with empathy, practicality, and perspective.
